Itinerary

Day 1-2: Journey to the Makalu Region and Trek Start

From Kathmandu, we take a flight to Tumlingtar and then drive to Num, the starting point of our trek. We begin our hike through dense forests and terraced fields to Seduwa.

Altitude Acclimatization: Num is at an altitude of 1,560 m. The first days of the trek allow for gradual acclimatization.

Day 3-4: Trek to Tashigaon and Khongma Danda

We continue our journey through the Arun Valley, reaching Tashigaon, the last permanent settlement on the trek. From here, we ascend steeply to Khongma Danda, offering our first views of the high mountains.

Cultural Insight: Tashigaon provides an opportunity to interact with the local Sherpa community and learn about their unique mountain culture.

Day 5-6: Cross Shipton La and descend to Dobate

Day 7-8: Trek to Yangri Kharka and Lower Makalu Base Camp
